Q2 Recap & Q3 Plans: Quiet Progress, and What’s Next
It’s the end of Q2! Which means it’s time for some reflection on where I am up to with my business plans.
Q2 wasn’t about chasing big numbers or piling on more pressure - the goal was to focus, refine, and lay some proper groundwork. I wanted to shift away from “doing everything” and just make steady progress on the things that felt aligned.
My Q2 Goals Were:
Skillshare: Launch my second course and start incorporating student feedback – keeping things light and achievable.
Digital Product: Create a simplified product (like a toolkit, guide, or template) rather than a full-blown e-book.
Email List: Rework my lead magnet and focus on attracting quality subscribers, not just chasing numbers.
Freelance Prep: Define my core services, update my website, and start softly promoting my offers.
What I Actually Did
I launched my second Skillshare course of the year (Smarter SEO Strategy for Small Businesses in 2025) and received some lovely feedback from students, which was really encouraging.
I updated my lead magnet and began promoting it more intentionally.
I created two free marketing resources – an AI SEO Guide and an Instagram Reels Guide – which were fun to put together and helpful for the kind of audience I want to support.
I set up my digital shop and made some initial sales on my first product (!), which felt like a huge milestone.
I also had some freelance work from a previous client, which was really nice to return to.
I didn’t get a second digital product out as planned, but instead focused on the free content side, which felt like a better fit for where I was at.
I didn’t finalise my freelance services yet, but I’ve started the process – doing research, writing notes, and even getting a few early enquiries.
And something else I’ve been quietly building in the background: my blog. I’ve been gradually posting more and starting to see an increase in website traffic, which feels like a nice bit of momentum that I’d like to keep up. 🙂
What Didn’t Go to Plan
Personally, Q2 was a bit of a challenge. I’m in the middle of buying my first house (which is dragging on longer than expected), and there’s been other life stuff going on too – so time and headspace have been a bit limited. Plans shifted slightly, but I still feel like I made good progress.
What I’m Focusing on for Q3
Launch my third Skillshare course
Properly define my freelance services and update my website
Explore more consistent freelance work
Start looking at diversifying my courses onto other platforms (like Udemy)
Begin planning a new digital product – but only if and when the idea feels right
Try to post more consistently on social media, especially Instagram and LinkedIn – though with everything else going on, this is a ‘nice to have’ and not the top priority
And, of course… move house (finally, hopefully!)🤞
Overall, Q3 is about continuing to build, and making sure I’ve got the energy for the big life stuff too. It’s just me doing all of this (whilst working FT), so I’m keeping things realistic while still moving forward.
