Last updated: 02 September 2026
This notice explains how Louise Laurie Marketing collects, uses and protects personal information.
1. Who we are
Louise Laurie Marketing is a trading name of Louise Laurie. Louise Laurie is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this notice.
Email: hello@louise-laurie.co.uk
We currently handle data-protection enquiries by email. If postal correspondence is required, please contact us to arrange this.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
Your name, business name, role, email address, telephone number and other contact details.
Enquiries, messages, meeting notes, proposals, contracts and records of our work together.
Services and consultancy information, including questionnaire responses, website links and information about your products, customers, events and marketing activity. This may include analytics, ecommerce, email or sales reports you choose to share.
Purchase, order and customer-account information, including your name, email address, billing address, products or courses purchased, order history and information needed to provide access to digital products.
Information about your access to digital products, such as courses or gated content associated with your customer account.
Payment and invoice information. Payment-card details are normally handled securely by the payment provider rather than stored directly by Louise Laurie Marketing.
Newsletter subscription, preferences and email engagement information.
Technical website information such as IP address, browser, device, pages visited and cookie or analytics data.
We collect information directly from you, automatically through our website and its cookies, from platforms used to deliver our services, and from relevant public business sources such as your website.
If you create a customer account, account information is processed through Squarespace so that you can log in, access purchased digital products and manage relevant account information.
Please do not send passwords, security codes or unnecessary personal information about your customers through forms or ordinary email. We do not intentionally collect sensitive information through our standard forms.
3. How and why we use information
We may use personal information:
To answer enquiries, understand your requirements and prepare proposals. We rely on steps requested before a contract and, where appropriate, our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries.
To process purchases, create and manage customer accounts, provide access to courses and digital products, deliver downloadable resources, send transactional communications and provide customer support. We rely primarily on our contract with you and, where necessary, our legitimate interests in administering and supporting our products.
To provide marketing consultancy services, communicate about delivery and manage our work together. We rely on our contract with you.
To maintain records of purchases and course access, including for accounting, customer service, disputes and legal obligations. We rely on contract, legal obligations and our legitimate interests in running and protecting the business.
To issue invoices, record payments, keep business records and manage disputes or legal claims. We rely on contract, legal obligations and our legitimate interests in running and protecting the business.
To send newsletters and information about our services where you have consented or where the applicable customer soft opt-in is available. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To publish an identifiable testimonial, case study or client logo where we have an appropriate basis, normally your permission. Where we rely on consent, it can be withdrawn for future use.
To operate, secure and improve our website and understand its performance. We use consent where legally required for cookies or similar technologies, and legitimate interests for necessary security and operation.
4. Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information.
Where necessary, we may share it with:
Squarespace, which provides our website, forms, ecommerce, customer-account, gated-content and course-delivery functionality.
Google, including Google Forms, Drive and Sheets for client questionnaires and project administration, and Google Analytics where enabled.
Payment processors, which securely process payments and may store payment details where a customer chooses to save them.
Third-party platforms used to deliver or support a product or service, such as video, meeting, cloud-storage, email or delivery tools where relevant.
Professional advisers, insurers, regulators or authorities where necessary or legally required.
A collaborator or supplier involved in your project, where this has been agreed with you.
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure an appropriate safeguard applies, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections.
5. How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed.
Our usual periods are:
Unsuccessful enquiries: up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact.
Raw client-questionnaire responses: up to 12 months after the service is completed.
Routine project files and correspondence: normally up to 24 months after completion.
Customer-account and course-access information: while the account or purchased digital product remains active, and afterwards for a reasonable period where needed for customer support, records of entitlement, disputes or legal obligations.
Contracts, invoices, purchase records and core business records: normally up to six years, or longer where required by law or needed for a legal claim.
Mailing-list information: while you remain subscribed, with limited suppression information retained after an opt-out so we respect your choice.
Information is then deleted, anonymised or securely disposed of unless there is a lawful reason to retain it for longer.
6. Marketing and cookies
Completing an enquiry or client questionnaire does not automatically add you to our marketing list.
Purchasing a course or digital product, or creating a customer account, does not automatically add you to our marketing list. Marketing communications are handled separately in accordance with the choices you make.
Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe.
Our website uses necessary cookies and may use analytics or other non-essential technologies. Where consent is required, these should not be activated before you make your choice.
You can review or change your preferences through the website’s cookie controls.
7. Transactional and service communications
We may send service communications relating to:
purchases and payment confirmations
receipts and order information
customer-account creation or access
course and digital-product access
important changes affecting purchased content
customer-support matters
security or technical issues
These communications are necessary to provide or administer a product or service and are separate from marketing emails.
8. How we protect information
We use proportionate measures to protect personal information, including access controls, account security and limiting access to people or providers who need it.
No online system is completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will assess it and take any action required by law.
You are responsible for keeping your own customer-account login details secure.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to:
access your personal information
correct inaccurate information
delete information
restrict how information is used
object to certain uses
receive or transfer information you provided
withdraw consent where we rely on it
These rights are not absolute and legal exemptions may apply.
To make a request, email hello@louise-laurie.co.uk. We may need to confirm your identity and will respond within the period required by law.
If you are unhappy with how we use your information, please contact us first.
You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at https://www.ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or telephone 0303 123 1113.
10. Other important information
Our services, courses and client questionnaires are intended for adults and business users. We do not knowingly collect information from children through these activities.
We do not currently make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects using solely automated processing.
If you create a customer account, Squarespace processes account information so that you can log in, view relevant orders and access digital products you have purchased.
Our website may link to services operated by other organisations. Their privacy practices are governed by their own privacy notices.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this notice when our services, providers, website functionality or legal obligations change.
The latest version will appear on this page with a revised date.
