Life with Scoliosis Blog
My blog is a personal project that I first started in 2010, following my scoliosis surgery. I developed severe scoliosis as a teenager, and as a result had a spinal fusion surgery to fuse and correct my spine and prevent it from getting worse. My blog started as a way for me to cope with recovery post-surgery, as writing has always been very therapeutic for me.
Over time, I started getting messages and emails from people with scoliosis, asking my advice and telling me that I have helped/inspired them with my story. As a result, I decided to keep going with my blog post recovery, and decided that I really wanted to help and inspire others who may live with the condition or be facing the surgery. It is a huge operation and incredibly scary to go through, so if I can provide inspiration and hope to others that there is life post scoliosis surgery, then I have achieved my goal.
In my spare time, I have managed to grow and develop my blog over the years to a place I am proud of. I now have a community of people that follow me and I receive kind messages and comments from people with scoliosis on a weekly basis, and this really means the world to me.
I am in the process of growing my YouTube channel to complement my blog and have also launched a store on Teespring selling scoliosis awareness products.
I have many plans to grow and develop my blog and the Life with Scoliosis brand further.
However, this project is not about how many followers I have or how much money I can make. It is a personal passion to help and inspire those with scoliosis, as well as raise as much awareness as possible.
Impact:
Raised thousands of pounds for the Scoliosis Association UK through awareness campaigns and fundraisers.
Built a community of individuals seeking information, support, and guidance about scoliosis.
Created content that encourages others to embrace challenges and stay active post-surgery.
